On May 20th and 21st Recsea representative A.J Saito visited Koh Tao, to dive with The Film Company and Ban's Diving Resort.

We where fortunate enough to be able to test out some of their great new housings and view some prototypes that Recsea has in the pipeline, aswell as to try out their new lights.

The lights the RML-18650 mini 1000lm, 300 meter rated LED's are compact and well made with aluminium housing double o-ring seal and twist on off controls. At a 1000lm the lights are powerful and reliable, using four with a video rig granted more than enough illumination and the batteries on constantly for a 60 minute dive where still going strong despite not having time to re-charge fully between our dives. Also great as a handheld primary their powerful beam has no "hotspots" and provides a great overall coverage.

The RDH-C70D for the Canon EOS 70D was also on our test list with the RUWM - 4.3in Video Monitor. The RDH-C70D comes in two models the standard and the fixed dual grip model. both housings are surprising compact and lightweight. And even when combined with the RUWM video motor where hugely manoeuvrable and slightly negative once in the water. We used the  AT-X 107 AF DX Fisheye AF 10-17mm f/3.5-4.5 Fisheye lens with the Recsea Dome Port SLDPM-170.

The Video Monitor is again rated to 100 meters and is a great tool for the under water videographer. The monitor comes with a choice of either a ball or YS mount* and a choice of E/O, SEA CONN or SubConn connectors*. (*These must be specified at order). The monitor shade is well thought out and provides substantial glare control and operation is simple and easily adjusted. With a separate power supply this means that the dive time for both the camera and monitor is significantly increased when in video mode.

We where highly impressed with the results from the Recsea and will be posting our film here shortly.
