First aid and CPR are excellent skills for anyone involved in any adventure sports to have for those just in case moments and you will need these skills for the PADI rescue course.

Emergency First Response teaches these lifesaving skills – and they’re for anyone, not just divers. The training teaches serious medical emergency response skills in an upbeat, positive environment and you will gain the confidence that you are prepared to help in an emergency.

You will learn;

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breathing at the layperson level, AED (automated external defibrillator) use (optional), Preventing and caring for shock, Spinal injury management, Use of barriers to reduce disease transmission risk, Basic first aid and first aid kit considerations

Please note that if you have a current First Aid and CPR certification (within one year) you will need to provide documented proof of this to participate in the PADI Rescue Diver course.

For those that wish to train as an underwater videographer the minimum experience requirements are that you are an Emergency First Response and Rescue Diver with at least 50 logged dives, with all your own diving equipment. We highly reccommend if you wish to work as a freelance underwater videographer that you are a DIVEMASTER

It is also worth noting that if you are taking a gap year or considering further education then you may be able to gain college credit for  PADI scuba diving courses.
